4 Ways to Reduce Bags Under Your Eyes

You decided to eat that bag of salty chips and binge-watch another episode of your favorite TV show instead of going to bed a decent time, and now your undereye area has enough bags for a three-week vacation. Or, perhaps you got plenty of sleep, but still woke up with droopy undereyes due to hereditary traits, allergy symptoms, or dietary limitations. Whatever the case, undereye bags can be a pain to reduce or fully get rid of and can severely affect your self-confidence. To improve your appearance, you can try a few surgical and non-surgical solutions. Here are four options to help reduce bags underneath your eyes.

1. Eye Cream

Some eye creams are outstanding for reducing or preventing the appearance of undereye bags. When searching for your cream, read the labels and look for ingredients like caffeine, hyaluronic acid, and retinol. These ingredients will help hydrate, tighten, and awaken the skin underneath the eyes. Another tip is to keep your cream inside the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it. The cooling sensation will help ease inflammation underneath the eyes.

2. Cooling Eye Roller

A great way to stimulate blood flow and help push the excess liquid out from under the eyes is with an eye roller. Look for rollers made from materials like jade, rose quartz, amethyst, or obsidian, depending on the different benefits these crystals offer to the skin. After you’ve applied your eye cream for the night, use the small end of the roller to gently massage underneath the eye area and push excess liquid out toward your hairline and down your throat. Eye rollers are also an excellent way to encourage cell turnover, produce collagen, and tighten the skin.

3. Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

While these at-home tips are great, they are not guaranteed solutions to the issue. For some, undereye bags are hereditary and require surgical intervention. A lower eyelid lift, or lower eyelid blepharoplasty, is a great way to reduce bags or hollowness beneath the eye and create a more vibrant, rested, and welcoming expression.

4. Dermal Fillers

Lastly, dermal fillers can help significantly reduce the appearance of stubborn eye bags. Dermal fillers consist of a compound called hyaluronic acid that keeps the skin firm and supple. When injected beneath the eyes or in other hollow areas of the face, it can gently, naturally amplify fullness.
